Exchanges

KR

Kraken Exchange

Kraken is the security-first exchange people mean when they say “I actually trust leaving size here.” Online since 2011, never lost customer funds to a classic exchange hack, early on proof-of-reserves, and properly regulated in places that matter (U.S., UK, EU rails). Fees aren’t Binance-cheap on day one instant buys are expensive, Pro is the real venue but versus Coinbase it’s often the sharper regulated pick. Spot, staking, margin/futures where allowed, and a growing TradFi crossover for eligible users.

CR

Crypto.com Exchange

Crypto.com is less a pure exchange and more a consumer crypto ecosystem polished mobile app, Visa debit card with CRO cashback, Earn/staking, plus a separate Exchange order book for people who actually trade. App buys look easy and cost more (spread + card fees). Exchange fees start higher than Binance unless you stake CRO, then they get competitive. Strong licensing footprint; rewards and fees are glued to locking CRO. Great for spend-and-earn users, average for fee-obsessed day traders who won’t touch the token.

GA

Gate Exchange

Gate is the veteran altcoin warehouse of crypto exchanges online since 2013, with one of the widest token catalogues of any major CEX. Spot fees are middling (often around 0.1–0.2% before GT/VIP cuts), futures are more competitive, and the Startup/pre-market rails are why hunters show up early. The UI is busy, long-tail liquidity can be thin, and plenty of countries are blocked. Use it to find coins not as your only forever vault.

BI

Bitget Exchange

Bitget is a trader-first crypto exchange that made its name on copy trading and cheap perpetual futures, then bolted on solid spot, bots, and Earn so you don’t need three apps. Base spot fees sit at 0.10% (about 0.08% with BGB); futures start around 0.02%/0.06%. Big Protection Fund and monthly proof-of-reserves help the trust pitch. Not for U.S. users, not a simple buy-and-hold bank on-ramp — it’s for people who actually click trade.

KU

KuCoin Exchange

KuCoin is still the altcoin-hunter exchange most people mean when they say “lots of coins, decent fees, bots included.” Roughly a thousand-plus assets, spot and perps, free grid/DCA bots, and KCS discounts that pull spot fees from 0.10% down toward 0.08%. The platform got more compliance-heavy after U.S. legal pressure — mandatory KYC now, U.S. users withdrawal-only — so the old “anonymous KuCoin” vibe is gone. For non-U.S. traders who want breadth without Binance’s brand tax, it remains a workhorse.

BI

Binance Exchange

Binance is a leading cryptocurrency exchange for buying, selling, and trading Bitcoin, Ethereum, and digital assets with advanced tools and global market access.

CO

Coinbase Exchange

Coinbase is a U.S.-based crypto exchange built for people who want to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other coins without wrestling with a complicated platform. It’s publicly listed (NASDAQ: COIN), heavily regulated, and widely treated as one of the safer on-ramps from bank money into crypto. The catch is cost — the default buy button is pricey — but Advanced Trade brings fees back into a more normal range if you bother to switch.

ME

MEXC Exchange

MEXC is the exchange people open when they want a new altcoin early and don’t want to bleed fees doing it. Spot maker fees often sit at 0%, takers around 0.05%, with futures priced just as aggressively and the catalogue runs into the thousands of tokens. It’s built for active traders chasing listings and leverage, not for anyone who needs Coinbase-level regulation or a simple buy-and-forget vault. Use it to trade, then move size off when you’re done.

OK

OKX Exchange

OKX is a global crypto exchange built for people who actually trade deep spot books, heavy perpetual liquidity, options where allowed, and a unified account that shares collateral across products. Fees start competitive (around 0.08%/0.10% spot, 0.02%/0.05% perps) and drop with VIP volume or OKB. The standout extras are monthly proof-of-reserves and a real self-custody Web3 wallet with DEX aggregation. It’s not a “tap buy Bitcoin” app for first-timers, and product access varies hard by country.

UP

Upbit Exchange

Upbit is South Korea’s main crypto exchange the place most local traders actually use when they move KRW into Bitcoin, Ethereum, and altcoins. Run by Dunamu (tied to Kakao), it dominates Korean volume with deep won-denominated order books and strict real-name banking rules. If you’re in Korea and want spot trading with solid liquidity, it’s the default. Outside that market, access is limited and the product stays deliberately basic: no futures, no margin, just spot.
